Cats are on the rise

It’s been a sad fact in the past that cats weren’t often treated as well as their dog counterparts.  Food expenditure per cat was often lower than that per dog, and us humans even saw cats as vermin from time to time.  Luckily, that’s beginning to change.

All of us cat parents (and most dog parents too) know that cats are full of affection and that they deserve the best when it comes to nutrition.  That’s why we at PURELUXE were happy to read that, along with dog food, cat food purchase were up 11% in the United States in 2020 in comparison to 2018 according to a recent survey.  Additionally, cat treat purchases were up a whopping 24% over 2018 when compared to only a 6.5% rise for dog treats.

However, it’s not just the dollar amounts that caught our eye in this survey.  Across the board, pet parents are more interested in healthy food trends like “grain-free” and “added prebiotics and probiotics”.  In fact, on some factors, cat parents where more interested in these items than dog parents.  At PURELUXE, we’re proud to be at the forefront of transparent and holistic eating for both dogs and cats.  All of our formulas are specially formulated for better health outcomes for dogs and cats while also tasting great.

So to all pet parents, if you haven’t taken a look at PURELUXE, visit pureluxepetfood.com to see all of our formulas.  We’re always proud to welcome new dogs and increasingly more cats to the PURELUXE family.
