Feces, blood and Oh My!

May 12, 2022 | Logan Simmons
This isn’t the news you want to hear from you pet’s food company.  This February, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning to a major dog chew manufacturer that it had 15 days to rectify a horrible situation at their factory (or explain why they need more time).  According to the FDA, they found rusty meat hooks, animal feces as well as blood and raw flesh splashed onto finished dog chews.

Obviously, this is a horrible scene and certainly a danger to dogs that consume treats produced at this facility.  However, what makes this even more troubling is the fact that the FDA inspected this facility a year prior and noted many similar conditions.  This February visit was actually a followup, and the facility hasn’t been shut down as they are still allowed time to correct the issues.  News of the February visit wasn’t even released to the public until April.

Wouldn’t it be nice to know that your pet’s food company is transparent about safety and is even willing to provide safety testing results from your actual batch of food?  Sadly, this isn’t industry practice, and government regulators don’t often step in until it’s too late.  However, we at PURELUXE Pet Food have a solution.

We seek out the best manufacturing facilities for all of our dog and cat formulas, and we provide those safety transparency reports to you.  We want you to know what we know, and we want to show how confident we are in every bag of PURELUXE we sell.  It can be a dangerous world out there, and you need to know what’s really in your pet’s food.  Learn about our formulas and our safety policies at pureluxepetfood.com.
