New Year Trick to Get Dog in Shape?

January 13, 2022 | Logan Simmons
It’s a new year, and you might have goals for you and your pup to get into shape.  One trick that many athletics have used over the years is attaching kinesiology tape to various parts of their bodies which move with the skin and increase blood and lymph flow.  Overall, it increases circulation and improves athletic performance.

That being said, research on kinesiology tape is limited and inclusive.  Additionally, research with the tape and dogs has never been conducted but some veterinarians, canine rehabilitation specialists and canine massage therapists swear by the tape.  They claim that the tape provides pain relief and allows dogs to heal faster from injury and even prevent injuries in some cases.

With this information, it’s best to consult your veterinarian to see if kinesiology tape is a good fit for your dog.  If it is, they’ll instruct you on how to apply it and use it.  However, if you want to see reliable improvements in your dog’s health, take a close look at what they’re eating.  Is fresh meat the #1 ingredient in your dog’s food?  Does their food avoid fillers and additives while also being transparent about safety testing?

PURELUXE Pet Food is proud to answer “yes” to the above questions, and we even offer special formulas for your dog to get them into shape and keep them in shape.  If your dog is overweight or older, try our Healthy Weight Formula.  If your dog is active or younger, keep them in their best shape with our Healthy Activity Formula which has a special blend of high protein and specially blended fats to meet your dog’s high nutritional needs.  Learn about all of our formulas at pureluxepetfood.com.
