Woman adopts oldest cat at shelter so they can “die peacefully”.  Things don’t go as planned.

Julia has a great heart and had the idea to adopt an elderly cat to add to her current 2 cat family.  She thought that the cat could die peacefully and that it was a good deed.  So, in 2016, Julia went to her local shelter and adopted an 11 year old cat that had been at the shelter for 2 years.

At first, the cat hid for months but Julia knew the cat was doing well since food and water would disappear throughout the day.  However, after a year or so, the cat was a full fledged member of the family.  Julia said: “I thought, if she dies tomorrow my goal is fulfilled, a senior cat got comfortable in my home.”

Now 6 years later, with a controlled case of Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), the cat is doing well.  Julia says that she’s found a food that works well with her cat’s allergies and that the cat doesn’t seem bothered by her age at all.  Julia’s advice to all of us is to adopt senior pets.  They’re very rewarding and might live longer than you think.

At PURELUXE Pet Food, we can’t be sure what kind of food Julia’s cat eats, but we can be sure that your feline family member can benefit from our fresh meat first and allergy reducing formulas.  We make sure to avoid certain meat meals that can cause allergic reactions while throwing in a healthy amount of pre and probiotics.  See all of our cat and dog formulas at pureluxepetfood.com.
